Description
An incomplete collection of OST from the imaginary game, "Weary". (I used GarageBand as my DAW unless I said otherwise.) (Also, I hope to release sheet music soon so be on the alert!)

The "Main Theme" is the first track in the Weary album(playlist). It represents the difficult journey that the main character(you) goes through. It occurs throughout the game either for a cutscene or as the backing track during main gameplay.

The "16-Bit Theme" is the second track in the Weary album(playlist). It occurs during cutscenes(or gameplay) while the main character is in the 16-bit (secondary gameplay) sections. (I used Beepbox for this specifically.)

The "Game Over Theme" is the third track in the Weary album(playlist). It occurs when the player loses the game and has to start over from the beginning or the last saved waypoint.

Love the LABS piano! And love the use of a leitmotif to glue the tracks together! The game over theme is simple but effective!

A solid 8/10 :D

Hello fellow Spitfire Labs Enjoyer. In the first track you were able to combine the piano and cello pretty well. In my opinion though, would have liked it better if the piano sounded more acoustic but it works as is. I don't know how I feel about the 16 bit track though. I feel like you could have changed it bit more so it didn't feel too much like the first song. Other than that, amazing soundtrack.

Lovely! Simple and memorable theme. The first track is very soothing. Some great unexpected chord changes to spice things up. I also like how you worked the main them into the 16 bit track as well. The game over jingle is so depressing in a way. It fits the mood perfectly and is also reusing parts of the main theme. Very nice cohesion between tracks!

Your first track is so emotional, it really shows what u put about the difficult journey the MC will got through, the strings make it so nice (I wish Garageband IOS had that kind of strings). Great Job!

Such a sad mood in this one. You can almost picture the visuals with this. I quite like that you revisited the theme of the song with the cello and piano with chip next. Without reading your text first, it definitely already conveyed the transition to 8-bit well. I also like how the game over sound has the motif of the theme returning.

Great work!

Track 1: I love the piano-cello combo! Definitely a very beautiful track. It would have been nice if the chords changed at some point, but timbrally it was on point.

Track 2: as someone who loves reorchestrating stuff to be chiptune, this is a really cool rewrite of track 1!

Track 3: always a good idea to use fragments of existing material in cool ways, and I like how you used the main theme in your game over!

Both main tracks were cool, but I'd love to hear them more fleshed out with more musical content. Still, both are really great!

I agree, most OSTs are either meant to be looped or played as a one-off. The second track definitely can be looped but the first track might be just a one-off, something that is played occasionally during cutscenes or at the title screen. (Also, I could have repeated more sections for emphasis but I was content with what I had. ) Thank you for your feedback!

In the next post (at my devlog), I will share a pdf for the sheet music that I wrote to create the main theme. You can use this to suggest some additions if you like.
