What did this game do well?

****************************

The feel of clearing a layer is satisfying and rewarding. I like the background which makes it feels like playing tetris at night. It's very fun to play.

I believe that the sound effects did the most for making the game feel gamey. Additionally, I liked the use of the background particles to add to the game ambience.

I like how you put a spin on an old game by using new effects. The sounds make the game come to life, and the particles, in particular, I feel add the 'juice' that makes games more fun.

The music and sound effects make the game very entertaining to play. The light particles were a nice touch, making it a lot more enjoyable for the player to clear a row.

I like the choice of bgm and sound effect as it match with the background particles. The choice of adding screen shake when the block is a perfect fit is a good idea as it shows a different feedback to the player compared to dropping blocks normally.

It was an interesting take on Tetris. Effects make the game more enjoyable and fun to play.

The ceasing particle effect adds more positive feedback when the user fills all the blanks in a line.

Love the colors and aesthetics. I also thought the block shadows were helpful in playing the game. The mechanics of the screen darkening was really creative.

It's Tetris. Tetris is always good. There's also a surprising amount of attention to detail that a lot of beginner Tetris games don't have, like Guideline-style rotation centers and some form of kicks (although they're not Guideline-kicks). In addition, the colors match Guideline palette so that makes playing easier.

Implementing a ghost is nice, although I'm surprised that wasn't a gamefeel setting.

Also, having two rotation buttons is very nice. Lots of people forget that you can rotate in both directions when playing.

The lighting effect look greater when player clear a row

What could this game have done better?

****************************

I don't really like the control of pressing 'E' to rotate the block. Why not put it on 'W'?

The game's UI should have been configured such that the toggles are not overlapping the screen. Additionally, it was difficult to get some of the effects to activate.

I think that there are many more game feel effects that could be added to make the game feel even more alive. The options that you have now are good, but more selections, especially unique ones, could make the feel like more than just Tetris.

The tetris game is a bit hard to see so it could be lightened while still maintaining the theme of darkness and light being as the player's reward for successfully clearing a row. The text for the menu options and instructions could also be larger. Having a score would also be neat.

I don't really like the part where the screen brightens up on certain times. It kinda makes the gameplay experience annoying because when the effect is done, the screen gets dark and it is kinda hard to see. Maybe not make it that dark initially

Background bubbles look little out of place. Could've tried little more effects on the blocks.

The lighting on Tetris is a bit dark, especially with the background particle effect.

Would have liked to see more done with sounds and music to make the game juicier on that front and more enjoyable to play for longer.

I'm going to be kind of harsh because I quite like modern Tetris (tetr.io more than actual guideline since real guideline is oddly slow and unbalanced) and you decided to make an actual game instead of just a toy. Thank you for your work, I'm sorry it has to be this way.

The fact that the pieces are very dim by default and only periodically brighten when turning on FX instead of staying at full brightness is annoying.

The controls are very weird, putting the rotation on the same hand as movement instead of on a seperate hand. If I want to play faster I'd have to put my right hand on top of my left.

Sometimes the rotation glitches out and kicks the piece erratically even if the rotation would succeed without any kicks.

The screen doesn't shake or bounce when I hard drop or hit the edges (check Tetr.io default settings). This makes me sad.

The screen shakes for way too long upon clearing a line.

Following are Tetris-specific nitpicks, because I like Tetris.

The randomizer is too random, it feels like it doesn't even follow the NES Tetris randomizer (reroll once upon duplicate piece).

Somehow there's guideline colors and guideline rotation centers but no guideline kicks, even though you already have kicks.

There's no next queue. :(

There's no piece-specific sound (TGM has a different sound for each piece so the player doesn't have to use their eyes).

DAS and ARR are too slow (this is a me thing).

That being said, it's still Tetris, so it's pretty fun.

It's really hard to see what's going on if the player didn't get a row clear, which makes harder to position, and hard to see, resulting in a negative feedback loop.
