What did this game do well?

****************************

It is refreshing to see an infinite runner game that focuses on the grinding resources part that does not really depend on collecting coins. This game focuses on resource grinding based on how long you can survive in this infinite runner game, accumulating steps. It might seem like a boring game if you think of it as an infinite runner game but I think it fits the concept because it is not supposed to be one but more so of a cookie clicker game like what was discussed in class

I really loved the music and the sound effects. I thought the shopping option was very interesting, especially adding the '???' made you wanna play on and and see what the objects did/what new features it would introduce.

The gameplay is intuitive. The music, tile maps, sprites all fit the theme. Players have to manage the health, mana, and items to survive as long as possible. I think it has the potential to be a full mini-game.

Game is fun to play. The mechanics were simple and as time passes it gets more and more trickier. I love how steps can be used for everything. I liked the special abilities too.

Felt like a temple run, so it's a pretty nice game genre.

It features a pretty clear resource conversion as you buy skill with points and you try to prevent health damage.

It takes strategy to decide how to use the steps. Without adequate speed in many cases the obstacle just cannot be avoided, with axe probably the frequency of such occasion would become lower.

A nice runner that makes use of resources. Spend more to gain more! Quite fun learning the investment pattern to achieve high scores. Fun sfx as well.

This game was challenging in a good way. You really had to think and plan out what you were going to invest your resources in because before you know it, you are running too fast and the game gets harder. I also liked how some items didn't have a description until you bought them. It made the player more inclined to try different strategies.

I like the shop in esc menu, good UI and design

What could this game have done better?

****************************

I feel like the color (too white) when flashlight was on was a bit unpleasant. It also would be nice if player can store the health potion and only use it later. Since it is randomly generated, player might not want to use it quickly and keep it for later.

This game does get repetitive pretty fast, I think having it black out once in a while was a very nice touch, but maybe also something else?

I thought this game is easy at first but after the player speed increases and when I need to go immediately from one side to another it's a little bit frustrating. But I guess the game requires players to utilize the items and pick up health flasks along the way.

I like the game way it is. May different resource which can be collected at start to make game bit more rewarding without using the cheat.

The game has tons of buffs, though in this instance they felt like the exact same resource which is skill. More resource type conversion maybe a good idea, but in the same time. This type of minimalist game east resource structure might be it's charm. So I felt it really depends.

The light skill feels too shiny.

Not sure actually. I find the game quite interesting.

(Unless I'm just bad at the game) I feel like there were some sequences of trees where it was impossible to navigate because of the arrangement or the speed of the game.

There can be more elements on the map that player can interact with
