What did this game do well?

****************************

I like the simplicity of the game, it makes the concept really simple. You are a player and have enemies, defeat the enemies.

I like the concept of picking up different weapons and try to match the color of the weapon to the enemy for more damage. The weapons also have different kinds of bullets so it's not just the same thing, which helps to recognize them. It's also very simple and easy to understand and to play.

The idea that once you kill an enemy it turns into a weapon is excellent. It is also quite easy to play. Nice sound effects.

I like how when the enemies die they turn into ammos. I like the different sounds you gave when the bullets hit the enemies or their bullets. I like how each colored ammo perform in a different way, and how you can switch between them. I like how it can only carry 2 different types of ammos at a time.

I like the control system with both mouse and keyboard. It feels like a FPS game in 2d, and the feeling of shooting green bullets (the heavy ones) is really cool.

I think this is a really neat concept, and you've done a great job with the particle effects and game feel. The underlying mechanic is quite solid.

Cool idea to make enemies turn into more ammo as you destroy them.

Controls are very smooth and intuitive.

It is very satisfying to defeat the enemies and the mechanics are very simple yet they work well. I like the different ammo types and how they have different effects.

What could this game have done better?

****************************

Maybe start off with less enemies in the beginning, it makes the game a bit hard. Navigating the WASD keys and mouse also seemed to be a challenge, and sometimes I couldn't get the trigger on the mouse to work. Also not sure what the resources are.

I would love it if the UI display could be a little bigger since it's a little hard for me to see so I have to spend a bit more time checking on my health and ammo. Going forward you can also add more variety of obstacles and enemies to spice the game up. Perhaps you can also include power ups if you want to introduce more resources.

It does not fit much into the resources: the only resource you have is the weapon, which is not enough.

I am not really sure how the score is being kept. Also, maybe it's just on my laptop, but the game freezes once in a while. Maybe add in some sort of system that notifies how many lives each enemies have left? When the player runs out of ammos, it seems like the only thing it can do is run away. The ammos don't generate again unless the player kills an enemy.

The respawn of enemies is a bit slow, I have to wait for a long time between attack waves.

I would focus on adding more kinds of resources or adding additional effects to the existing resources. For instance, you could modify the dash based on the color of square you're currently holding, which could add some more strategic depth.

It's kind of hard to get your bearings when the game starts out so quickly.

Also, the fact that you basically only have one Ammo storage rather than being able to differentiate between the different colors leaves the Resources a bit lacking.

In the future maybe add a few more ammo types or different maps.
