  • Branch Of Happiness is an extremely pretty game, with a unique and clever take on the game jam's theme. The minigames are simple but fun, and the mechanics enforce the theme of the game jam well. Unfortunately, the game has multiple game-breaking bugs in its current state. In fact, it is impossible to clear 1 tree as far as I'm aware, because the ant minigame does not seem to end. Of course, this is a game jam so bugs are bound to occur. However, in this case the bugs outright stop the primary gameplay loop - so I must deduct some points for that. In the future, I'd recommend giving more time to playtesting on-device (or in this case, on-page) to identify these game-breaking bugs before the last second. It would make the game better to remove features from the game than to have it in its 'planned' state but unplayable. Please do not be discouraged - this game did a ton of things right and still got a very high ranking, because its level of polish and quality was clear. Good work!
  • The tooltips above the 3 challenges in the main screen were excellent. They let me know that these buttons were interactable and gave me some information about what I need to do. Unfortunately, the information wasn't enough and I was unable to complete any of the challenges. The water task: Had a timer in the left top corner letting me know when to start. The drops below started to disappear and I didn't know why. I was unable to pour the water no matter how many times I tried clicking when the cursor was on the blue spot. The challenge always ended abruptly without any feedback if I succeeded or not. The bugs challenge: I understood exactly what I needed to do. The timer and the start text were buggy. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't' I was able to exterminate all the bugs. I tried the challenge a few times and reached a state where there were no more bugs and nothing was happening. No new bugs appeared and I was stuck in the screen. No buttons and nothing to do. I had to restart the game several times. I wasnt able to complete the third challenge either. Overall the game looked very nice. The art and animations were excellent and I really wanted to grow the tree. Unfortunately either bugs, or poor understanding of the game on my part didn't let me. The counters on the top and left top sides of the challenge screens didn't work. I think it would be a major improvement if the instructions of the challenge were shown inside that screen and not in a tool tip in the screen before. Also, it would be great to give the user a feedback during the challenge when they do something right and after it so that they know if they succeeded or not. After doing a challenge and returning to the main screen, the challenge was no longer accessible (clicking it did nothing). Overall the art looked great but I was unable to play the game.
  • This game has a beautiful, proffesional looking design. The idea of using simple tasks as mini-games to cheer this tree up is very original and fits the theme. However, all three mini games five no feedback on sucsses and faliure, and gain no progress. While each mini-game was clear and inviting they also felt unfished, and thus my plant remained sad :( Either game, a few fixes to the mechanics and some continuation can create a lovely little project with a great feel to it and a great theme!
  • This is a game made by artists. It's so beautiful, and the concept seems genuinely interesting, but it's simply not playable in it's current condition. I tried to rate it for what it could be.
