  • Well done on your game! The concept was very fun and I love the music and dinosaur models! The music was also fun but a bit loud. Things to improve upon: - The UI/UX of the game could use some work. For such a short time frame, you did a great job, but definitely think about how the visual and non-visual UI will affect people's gameplay! For example, scrolling up on the mouse, which is generally associated with zooming in, was actually the zoom out function. Having the tips on the screen was great, but your dialogue boxes did not fit the aesthetic of the game. Also being able to toggle them on and off would be a great option! - As noted above, the scrolling functions seemed to be backwards. This isn't a huge deal, but I did notice if you zoom in too much, the game actually disappears and you're left with a light blue screen. Make sure there is some sort of limit to the zooming! - I would highly recommend reducing the size of the map. I found 90% of the time I could just see a dinosaur on a completely green screen which isn't very invigorating gameplay. Reduce the map size and use environmental storytelling to make your game more interesting! If you're going to have a big world, you have to make sure to fill it with something. Overall, great job! A super solid jam submission.

Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback and will definitely keep improving this project. When I was playtesting, I also had the same thought about reducing the map-size haha. It was the default Terrain size and I'm still pretty new to it, but I'll definitely work on that.

I'm happy the music and dinosaur models matched pretty well! I'll definitely change the UI to fit the aesthetic and thank you for mentioning the Zoom controls. I didn't even notice I had them backwards and you're definitely right about the constraints. I overlooked it as it was one of the last features I added but I really appreciate all the feedback.

I'll write it down on a list and then release a more updated version, it will be fun to compare what I completed during the Jam and also what I improve on moving forward. The Jam was a lot of fun also, I really enjoyed being part of the community and to see the progress of others!
