Some levels are really very complex, and it's not always easy to understand what to do, and how at the beginning. It would be important to underline that no matter where the player clicks or the duration of support, the jump will always be of the same height and length (except if the cube touches specific direction boxes): the goal being to take advantage of gravity in the game, and to click more or less quickly to trace up to the end of level flags. Afterwards, the levels are not of progressive difficulty and can therefore block and demotivate, where the following ones can really surprise by their ease.
But in the end, this game is very good and well done. The grip is quite simple, and as soon as we understand all the specificity of this game, we spend a very good time trying to move forward, knowing that failure restarts the level without any downtime (an "Impossible Game" touch). Graphically it's sober but successful: it might have needed some animated graphics with neon effects or other particles to give a little life to the background and obstacles, but it's still very clear and pleasant. The complete change of colors is very nice and gives visual interest to each new level.
So, despite the small flaws mentioned above, A Hard Time is a very interesting project that deserves to be followed with the greatest interest. As it is, with additional levels (or a level editor, for an infinite lifespan) and above all a musical/audio background, A Hard Time has absolutely everything to please. I had a lot of fun advancing through these 9 levels. Well done !
