This game reminds me of how important damage and power-up feedback is. :))) I do forget (or deliberately skip) adding visual or audio feedback when the player/enemy got damaged or got a power up, so this is a great reminder. You did good with the feedback when player got damaged, but in shooter games like this, apparently what worry us beside being hit is "do our bullets give damage?".

Good music, smooth and easy control. A refreshing among a lot of platformer genre. The bar at the bottom of the screen is a good idea, though in the end I'm still guessing whether it's progression to the next level or representing player's score. Yes, I know it's because of the "no text" limitation. :)) That's why I think the bar is a good idea.
