This is pretty neat- I'm a big fan of solo RPGs so I'll need to play it whenever I find the time for it. It's kept fairly simple which works out for how many mechs there can be to keep track of and has room for some fun if you manage to get a mech snowballing.

So first impressions after having a glance through the rules. First of all, solo TRPGs heck yeah! Second of all as a lore goblin I do love the little breadcrumbs of lore presented in the rules as well as what's on your blog. I do love me some science fantasy mech action. Regarding the rules, they are fairly straight forward and easy to understand which is good, but I can see some potential issues with book keeping especially if you are keeping track of about  a dozen units and all the rolls they are making. Still I am looking forward to giving it a run through its paces when I have a moment and I will let you know my experiences with Swordband.

First off,  I'm really hype to see a solo rpg submission! Solo rpgs have been getting a lot more popular and I think this is the first mecha one I've seen.

I also really like what info we get on the setting. It sounds like a cool, weird universe and it really sparked my curiosity and imagination. I also think it's a great idea to do military themes in a solo rpg by having the player write after action reports.

All that said, I do think the scenario presented is unfortunately a little bland. I feel like the sweet spots for this sort of thing are either offering broad narrative strokes  or offering a lot of choices. The Hold the Point scenario doesn't do either, so it's a lot of dice rolling without feeling dynamic.  I wonder if there is an opportunity to abstract combat into fewer rolls to move things along. Hopefully this is only an issue with the first scenario and there will be opportunities to add more dynamic play into the TBA ones.

Overall, love the concept, love the setting hints, and would love to see continued development.

Thank you so much for checking the game out!

And yeah that’s exactly where I kinda left of after working on this so far. Part of me wants to do something lighter and more simple like the other solo rpgs I’ve released, part of me is also wondering if I should do something more properly crunchy to warrant the details. I think I need to churn out a few more of the modules out for this game before deciding where I want to go and if I need to do some sort of revamp at a later date.

Glad you are enjoying the setting too, I’ve quite a bit of writing about it for the #lore24 challenge this year :)
