The torch mechanic is very creative!

When I got to the second fire I noticed that there were more Ice blocks high in the sky. Was there a way to progress further?

I enjoyed this game for what I played of it, I sadly got stuck after a solid amount of time working it out and the controls were a bit difficult so I didn't feel I had enough time to really get back, the ice walls confused me at first until i worked it out, in fact I didn't know they were ice walls until I read here, I think a mini in-game tutorial (just some text) would help, as well as maybe a few checkpoints and something that allows you to jump when you aren't actually on the platform by a few frames (you could probably find a video of it if you don't know that) as the parkour is quite difficult, Overall though a solid little experience!

I can’t seem to jump over the first barrier. Is there a special key combo for higher jumping?

Edit: Figured it out! Then was immediately consumed by darkness lol
