What an incredible and realistic dystopian story, I don’t even know where to begin. Asides from the obvious positives countless people have already pointed out, I love how even the minor characters have personality. Every group isn’t monolithic, which is refreshing in this type of post-apocalyptic dystopia. And tying the journal entries with the present story! AND THE MUSIC!!! I teared up because the climax of the music synced perfectly with the moment I reached when the rain came in. So many things I’ll remember about Viatica and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

It's short and sweet, but feels nicely put together in the way that I could easily see this opening up into a larger story of politics, disability, and the building of their relationship.
Both characters felt solid in their personalities, whether I went for the warmer open route or the colder mistrusting one with the MC's replies. She understandably puts her people first and knows she has reasons to mistrust this royal stranger -- but her background gives her amble reason to be receptive and wanting for his trust as well. As for Yùzhàn, he's immediately endearing. I really felt that he's got a lot of anxieties to overcome due to his current circumstances and how he was raised, but also that he could really blossom if given the right support. I immediately wanted the best for both characters.
Overall, very nice! Left me honestly wishing there were a longer form VN or novel to enjoy. Thank you for sharing.
