I like it but some of the stuff does not work and it is really weird when you go into the alternate dimension as down is jump (as it is flipped) but the left and right keys feel unnecessarily flipped and it is really confusing for me. Also I sometimes go way to fast and just skip the entirety of the underside map and wind up flying to the far right of the map and becoming stuck. Other than that I like the game, but it could use some sound.

(Also check out my game 😀)

Ah, that's a unique idea. I recently did a jam with the theme "Life in Two Dimensions," and this reminded me a bit of some of those entries, haha. Very cool.

Retry button not working as a bit sad because of how terrible I was at this, but I see you're already aware of that, so no use worrying about that. Controls sometimes felt a little weird, floaty maybe? Mainly just the jump seemed to sometimes be very high and sort of inconsistent. I though maybe there was a wall jump or something, but I couldn't really understand it. It's also quite possible I was just missing something.

I see you've got plans to keep working on this, which I think is the right call in this case! That concept has crazy potential. Good work!

I also tried participating in that same jam, but I didn't finish my game in time, but I was commenting on the live stream q bit 😂

Thanks for the review, I also noticed that the jump was a little wierd and due to me using tilemaps, the floor and walls were tagged as ground, my logic of hitting ground before jumping again goes a tad wonky since the wall is ground haha

I appreciate the feedback 🙏

This is an okay-idea:

- When you die, the "Retry" button doesn't work. It only works when you "won"

+ This game looks pretty . . .

- . . . although a bit lifeless, since the character is just sliding and not actually moving

+ I love the concept of a sort of "mirror-world" and it reversing your controls on top of that!

- No music, no sound effects. Shame

Still, good effort and an attempt!

Thanks for the reply Zeromus,
I only had a few hours in total to create this and I had so many ideas :D

The retry butotn seems to be a WebGL issue only, I'm assuming one of the other UI layers is overlapping, so I'll reorder the button to the top :)

I'll create custom character sprites to add more life to the game as well as music and sound effects.
Some other improvements I'm looking at are SFX when the player collides with the floor, walls etc.

Thank you so much for hte feedback, hopefully I'll turn this into an amainz little game.

1. Fair enough. I if anyone should know how trying the time constraints are ~

2. I guessed as much. I know a bit of coding myself, don't worry ~

3. If you want to, and if you wanna finish this game-idea. I can already say that this could be worth finishing! And if you need a character-designer/general idealist/storywriter etc., I'll gladly help you out ~

I hope you'll do nothing but prosper as well ~

Yeah basically my experience

Very cool concept! Short and simple submission but I enjoyed playing it, left me wanting more!

It felt a bit like Ibb & Obb but with the reversed controls twist and I feel like it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL!

I'm a sucker for these simple sort of graphics, especially the neon-vibes it gives.  May I recommend maybe setting up an effect that would make it seems like everything's glowing? That'd be so sick, I reckon!

The controls were very responsive, which I like. I did wish there was some sounds to it (or was it just broken on my end? Let me know!) - it would've added to the immersion greatly.

As mentioned in another comment, level design could use some work but that doesn't take away that the concept is very cool and I enjoyed playing through it, well done! Thanks for your submission!

Thanks for the feedback :)

I didn't have enough time for music or sounds but I agree that it would have added soo much in terms of immersion. I'll prioritise that on my next/current jam game :P

I did think of adding a glowing effect but I didn't know how to off the top of my head, but I'll definately look into it since it seems to be a wanted.

Also thanks for recomending Ibb and Obb, I had never heard of it so I will give it a play though :D

Really fun concept. Unfortunately the retry button was broken for me so I had to reload the page three or four times to complete the game. I think the level design could use some work, right now I beat both lvl2 and 3 by just jumping from the highest point I could find in the same dimension (lvl 2 was below water, lvl3 above)

Thanks for the feedback :)

I've noticed it seems to be broken in the WebGL build, I'm guessing it is because another UI element is on top, blocking the raycast, but I'll fix it for my next version :D

I initially wanted to add 5 levels but I realised how hard level design was. I'm going to try 5 levels for the next release and play through them multiple times .

I'm also hoping to add collectibles (liek the mario star coins) where there'll be 3-5 per level that are optional but may unlock other levels.

I think collectibles could be a really good solution! (And pls do that thing where you see a collectible early on you can't get and have to backtrack!)
