"Amber & Myrrh" takes the classic myth of Pygmalion and Galatea and puts a feminist twist on it by delving into the inner world of one of the prostitutes who so disgusted Pygmalion that he became celibate and devoted himself to sculpting Galatea. Here, Pygmalion is cast as a villain while the women he decries as lesser beings are portrayed as complex, loving, and understanding.
