on an actual serious note this game is so dear to me despite having just finished it like around <30 mins ago

it's just.... the characters are so insanely well written??? it genuinely tugs at ur heartstrings so much whenever u have to see them go through smth horrible or just insanely sad. i connected to them so much in a way i haven't quite done with other characters in games i have recently played. (lets also the ignore the fact i went through the 5 stages of grief trying to accept that i love orlam, god i just hate him and love him at the same time in the BEST way possible i wanna hug him so bad)

oh and the comedy is so good too LMAO. its both fun and despairing to play this game because one moment im like "aww"ing at the characters being soft with each other, the next im laughibg so hard my eyes tear up and then im WAILING at a horrific death or emotional scene. 

i also kinda was not aware of the fact this was kinda a dating sim pretty much, so when i realized i broke out into the biggest grin ever and made it my life's mission to matchmake iggy and genzou. and i MEAN that so seriously. whenever there was a scene with iggy and genzou where it's kinda pretty insanely obvious genzou is smitten for iggy i was tweaking, giggling, screaming and jumping around in excitement until the horrors catch up to them

so surely you can imagine how hard i yelled during arc 5 when u can pursue any character romantically and pair them with iggy. i was so so so so so so so ECSTATIC like YES THEYRE FINALLY HAPPY TOGETHER OH MY GODDDD

but i dont wanna just talk about the romance, because i deeply relate to these characters so much, the scenes of iggy accepting his asexuality and stop viewing it as if he's broken? where gidget realizes they dont have to put up or try to be perfect just for society and accept themself? yeah those shattered me. im aroace and i still struggle to accept it because i've grown to see the fantasies where as a girl (im afab btw) you meet the man of your life and marry him and live happily ever after. then i realized that no, i don't always feel like a girl or a set gender, maybe im a guy sometimes too, or nothing or something in between. and that was fine with me. but to know that my family has expectations of me having a boyfriend or girlfriend to bring home and marry, to settle with? nah i just dont feel about people that way. how iggy struggles with his self-esteem and not blaming himself, to put himself first too because it's important, how genzou isn't a good person and he hates himself for it, not thinking he can change for the better? bucks struggling with the expectations others have of herself and trying to keep them up? orlam being so left out and being made fun of that he just can't take it anymore because even his friends apparently hate him? yeah i bawled!

genuinely crazy how i related to every single character in this game in some way or another

it's just... everything abt this game clicks together so insanely well??? it's one of the best indie games i've ever played and i'm so glad i discovered it because not only did this make me laugh and have a good time,, but this made me realize things about myself and just maybe, work towards accepting them and changing for the better.

insane big kudos and a big hug to carrot for making this game i can positively say im gonna binge play every game on their page
