  • So what you've got here is a solid bit of mocap with some light editing to make everything sync up a bit better I think? The mocap is decently clean for the most part and there are only a few spots where you can see the popping from missing markers. they should be your first point of clean up after this. Smoothing them out will improve those areas drastically. Next up is all of your impacts and connections between the two characters. The impacts need editing to be faster and stronger with a decent follow through and reaction to each. The only time a punch should stop after connecting is if you've just broken your hand against a wall. Hitting a person means to push through them and in turn have them pushed back by the force of impact. If you can speed the attacks up, add 2-3 connecting frames to each punch/kick and then a reaction to each on the other character you'll have a decent fight scene here.
  • Great ambition in this piece. The key to successful cinematics is communicating clearly, to the audience through considered pacing and staging. A much shorter sequence may have helped focus the audience's attention. Studying live action reference, is key to developing dynamic sequences. Focus on good staging, understanding story boarding will help a lot with the composition of your shots. Study cinematography, film blocking and most importantly character posing and body mechanics. Analysing movement and animation frame by frame, helps show the attention to detail needed for this kind of work. Any animation work is a lifetime of steady improvement, so keep learning and moving forward!
  • First of all, this looks fantastic! My biggest problems with this piece are honestly quite nitpicky. Theres a little bit of motion capture jitteryness in a few areas, specifically in the legs, it's most noticeable when the guy in the yellow armour taunts. However, it hardly detracts from the overall animation. The final hit of the fight, the camera cuts away from, and I'm unsure as to why. I think a little bit of hand animation to really exaguarete the poses would go a long way, a bit more anticipation on some of the bigger moves to highlight them might really help to. Some of the shots are lit a little too brightly, be wary of your lighting. Regardless, fantastic work!
