I love the concept and look of the game. The game feel doesn't hit the spot for me though.

Some suggestions:

  • Make the Kibwe's movement more sticky. He feels like he glides too much, and needs more drag to stop quickly. I was often moved too far. It needs to be move precise, especially for interactions and combat.
  • When Kibwe died the bat kept attacking, but I couldn't reset the level.
  • I don't like the key mapping... I suggest Space for attack and E for interacting

What I loved:

  • The little intro was cute. I like the chieftain's animation
  • I like the graphics and music
  • I like you menu options
  • I liked having the key instructions when the player loaded

Thanks so much for your feedback. I have made an update to my game and would appreciate some follow-up feedback. I have turned down some of Kibwe's slipperiness. Please let me know if the "Keep" button doesn't appear or if when you click on the keep button nothing happens.

As part of the next sprint I plan to add in the other key mappings as extras and hopefully I will have time to allow you to set the key mappings to display in the HUD.

This is adorable! I love the aesthetic and animations a ton! Fun gameplay too. I appreciate the amount of hearts dropped, it encouraged me to not play super careful. I noticed that there seems to be some momentum when you try to stop moving and I kept sliding into monsters.

One bug I noticed that I didn't see in your list, anytime I tried to talk to the chieftain he seemed to get stuck to me and follow me around the building. Still playable for right now but just wanted to let you know.

I look forward to playing the game more after production! Good luck!

Oh yeah...thank for mentioning that. I forgot all about that since I started to make it so you couldn't collide with him, but then stopped cause it wasn't adding to the MVP. I'll add this to my backlog so I don't forget to fix it later.

As a side note the same thing can happen for the enemies, but I think it's less noticeable because you are trying to actively get them off of you
