Both a game that encourages creative writing based on mafia tropes and Tumblr lore and a meditation on media preservation (both physical and digital). This game has no right or wrong answers and no score at the end, it just asks you to think about your decisions within the game. The only downside is that you do need to have an understanding of mafia film tropes and actual media preservation to play this.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For some reason, when I read the synopsis of the game, I thought that the movie would somehow happen with the MC (don't ask me how I came to that conclusion, it's probably the language barrier (love to use ESL as an excuse), I think); and, being completely honest, I couldn't be more positively surprised and happy to be wrong. It was incredible, what a great game! Like, wow, it's barely been a minute since I finished, but I already want to replay it! I absolutely loved it, thank you so much for the game.
ps: Tbh, when I saw that the game repeated itself after not being accepted by the boss, I thought it would be one of those games where you have to do everything in a specific way, and that discouraged me a little, so when I noticed the small changes in the narrative, I literally went "absolute cinema" (pun intended, kinda, if you consider this a pun)
This is incredible! One of the best IFs I've ever played. I adore how you go over and over until your dreams come true. Sounds like a metaphor for life. Love it.
