How does your submission match the theme?
The game controls revolves around 1 button (Left mouse click). By clicking,
and pointing, the player dictates where the character goes. Since the character is a shadow,
the character moves towards the click is a shadowy dash. This acts as a dodge since
the character is immune to damage during this time. At the same time, the shadow
consumes souls, damaging its enemies.The player gains combo when hitting enemies
consecutively. At the same time, killing 3 enemies in a short period of time
also grants the player a shield that protects them from the killing blow.
I wanted to encourage a reckless playstyle where the player rush in to a
horde of enemies. This is why time stops momentarily on kills allowing player
to make their next move.
