Very good concept, solid base, many combinations of cards and enough of special effects. Fully worked main menu, beautiful transitions. Sometimes not enough of cards, sometimes full hand stack, seems need to learn more to choose right one combination. Also, my screen wider than usual (21:9) and little part of UI ("Back" button on "How to play" screen) barely seen on screen
We're really happy you're enjoying the game! We apologize for this mishap as we believe that we should have allowed enabling windowed mode on launch to address this known issue. If the resolution of your monitor isn't 16:9 unity might have a problem sizing the UI. We greatly appreciate the constructive criticism and are happy you enjoyed your experience. Thanks for the comment!
Bro i really ENJOYED this game, it's one of the few jam games that i've really enjoyed so far, once you understand how the game works, making combinations with the cards is so fun, congratulations
We're happy you enjoy it! We really wanted it to feel like you are a master mage creating unique combinations to suit the situation. Thanks for the comment!
The card-combining mechanic is really cool but i don't think it works in practice. There's no real time to strategise (or even read what each spell does), so the only thing that works is to just spam as much stuff down as fast as possible. Maybe slow down time when looking at a card or something?
The art is well done, no complaints there.
I'd love to see a more refined version of this concept, because my actual gameplay experience was pretty mixed.
We considered this a lot in the design process, one of the most effective strategies was to spam. One thing we did that we believe helped was adding the ability to pause to look at cards. Press Space and you can give yourself time to think. We also decided to give back a card every second and have the enemies react differently to each element. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to polish and correct this known issue enough for it to completely vanish. We appreciate your comment and constructive criticism. We're happy to see you engaged with out game in a positive way!
