poor optimization. terrible camera, dizzy from it. inconvenient control. the shadow of the character could be removed.
Managing to submit a game at all is in itself a great achievement. And constructive criticism can't hurt you if you didn't benefit from it.
My opinion: First of all, the main mechanics of this game isn't original, and that isn't bad, as long as you provide your own spin on them. But I found the mechanics on this game worst in every way compared to the original games they are inspired from. Secondly, the theme concept in this game -from my understanding- is that the player has a limited amount of stamina, this concept doesn't add anything to the experience, it just makes the game more frustrating, and that is a bad design choice. Thirdly, on the technical side, the player movement is very laggy and unresponsive. The way you implemented the fatigue when the stamina ends by descending the player into the ground feels very unpleasant. The camera movement isn't smooth as well, and the blur makes it worst because of how unresponsive it is. Number four, the art, assets, and lighting are actually nice, good job on that! Additional note, the sound sliders on the main menu don't work unless I close the game and relaunch it. Thank you for submitting the game and good luck in your game dev journey, hope to see you next year!
Thanks for such a big post! Yeah, even I don't like this mechanic, but I was really out of ideas and that how I implemented theme. About movement - it's fully physical, so that why it is so unresponsive, I would make it better but I had not enough time. And about sound sliders it's my bad, but I've realized that when it was too late.
So, so hard to control. To the point were I struggled to have fun. The player randomly stop moving was the worst part. Just slows down the whole process.
