Short description of the game
You play as a brave cat, with the mission of guarding and protecting your dear owner’s house from invaders. Explore the apartment and chase after mice and other unwanted guests with your weapon of choice. Shoot yarn and eradicate your enemies! You might leave a mess behind but at least your home will stay safe.

For the theme "Messing" I thought about various different things that came to mind and went with something simple, a cat making a mess in the house. As was evident, it is quite a popular interpretation of the theme but I added a little twist to it! There are rats invading the house and making a mess and the cat attempts to deal with these pests and might leave a mess behind them self as well, but that's alright.

Development Process
I developed this solo. This is my second game jam and also my second game. Initially the plan was to make something 2D since that was what I did last time but I got inspired and wanted to try my hand at 3D!

For this jam I mainly focused on having fun so I didn't spent that much time intensely making the game (which I did last time). The scope is very small and unfortunately this jam build is missing some core functions like ammo meter, moving enemies and damage (despite the fact that there's a health bar). The current build also has some issues like the badly calibrated shooting. I was very keen on working on the feel of the gameplay, so camera shake, VFX and so on. Unfortunately I struggled to execute these and had many buggy builds, and so those didn't make it into the jam build. Lots of the gameplay aspects I worked on had to removed for the sake of having a functional game.

Despite the less than perfect final result, this is something I can build upon quite a bit after the jam and I learned quite a bit during the making of the game as well! I had fun and got to try my hand at pixel art as well. It is very short, but I hope you enjoy the game anyway! =^•_•^=
