  • An amazing game with an even more amazing story. From the first time I've seen your progress on the game, I knew this is gonna be my favourite one and you didn't disappoint me. Wonderful audio, spectacular graphics and animation, and really well-made gameplay. I'm a sucker for sad and depressing stories, so you got me on that one too. It kinda feels like this game was tailor-made for me. Each round could be a bit more different though. The set of cards and their abilities could change for example. One round the player could be dealing with poison/bleed, the other round with some kind of armour etc. Thank you very much for your participation and for the amazing gaming experience.
  • Gameplay wise, this is quite a standard card duel game and there is not much original in the concept itself, but the game builds very nicely on it, as it has perfected graphics, audio, story and the narration. But where the game excels, are various details from ingredients that are used. Underground - you are approaching Death itself, the atmosphere feels very infernal, underground, dense. Also some of the lives you are playing are somewhat underground people like a drug user etc. New life - you are beating the Death in five levels, each level represents a new character, a new life you are playing. And when the game ends... perhaps you get a new life and stop doing whatever rot you do. Joker - you are playing against the Death that has very unbearable personality, making fun of you, laughing into your face, questioning your life decisions. But also there is a Joker coin ending the game round and the Joker card leading to new life. And liminal spaces... some of the places in the background feel really uncomfortable. This game plays with the ingredients on multiple levels and have a very deep and strong atmosphere. The only problem I have is somewhat poor game play with only few mechanics that are not that fun by itself, and the game becomes easy quite fast. Yet I was able to spend a lot of time playing it.

I like this game - very nicely presented, especially the dubbing and the characters. Per the game system, there is not much originality, it just a card game duel. The strategic depth is a little bit shallow and after few plays the game becomes easy and repetitive. There should be more connection between story/theme and various characters than just retheming their cards to their specific variant of rot. To stay more within theme, various character stories and experiences from their life could play a role in the game. I mean the characters history could lend to some interesting special cards and effects that could be truly unique to each character. Other than that… well, there could be some more characters, some deck building, some multiplayer duels… but as of now the game is mostly finished, just a little bit shallow.

A card game with interesting story in which you don't even know who you are.

Perfectly managed and finalized game, where - as strange as it sounds - it's all about the story.

A variation on games with death has been a popular theme since the days of the Det sjunde inseglet aka Seventh Seal, and here is an added  interesting story (a little bit of Persona). Great sound and dubbing, replicas of the protagonist and the Death accompany all levels of the game, where more and more cards and game mechanics are presented. All this topped off with a very themed and cool visual that is dark just the way the story calls for it.

+ a great detail is the "rot" and the fact that, for example, the king whose suffers from gluttony, has heaps of food as "mana"

+ replicas of all individual characters are great

- at the beginning the game is a bit slow

- in decent card games, there is usually the possibility to either discard cards (for example, if I only have a multiplier of injuries in my hand, but nothing that would give the injury, which happens annoyingly often) or generally the possibility to adjust the deck

Add deckbuilding and it's a ready game for publication :)
