For years, my brother-in-law and I have talked about creating a game together. We are both longtime gamers and first started discussing it when Flash was in its prime. Well...the GameDev.tv game jam finally got us to take the plunge. When the theme of "Last Stand" was announced, we came up with the idea of “Last Meme Standing.”
The Concept
Dive into the chaotic world of internet culture with “Last Meme Standing,” a prototype game where your favorite meme characters come to life and battle it out in a few hilarious mini-games. The concept is simple yet engaging: meme characters face off in a series of mini-games, fighting it out to claim the ultimate title of the “Last Meme Standing.”
The Journey
Participating in the game jam provided us with the perfect opportunity to bring our idea to life. The structured time frame pushed us to focus, collaborate, and ultimately get over the finish line. The game jam injected a sense of fun and urgency into our project.
What’s Next?
Creating “Last Meme Standing” was a fun experience, and we plan to continue and make it even better. Due to the short time frame, we had to restrict ourselves, but we have other elements ready to expand the game, including more meme characters, mini-games, and features.
The game jam gave us the momentum we needed to start and complete a project. We’re excited to continue developing “Last Meme Standing” and look forward to sharing more updates with you all in the future.
Stay tuned for more meme-tastic fun and get ready to find out who will be the ultimate “Last Meme Standing”!
