Ok, so this game isn't quite in a finished state, but the components of a game are there! I think the biggest help would be some kind of projectile that spawns when you shoot, in order to be able to tell whether you're hitting the moon or not (maybe even a crosshair). Also, without a background it is hard to judge your movement when using the WSAD keys, but I'm sure you would have gotten to that with some more time. I like the fact that you have a tutorial and user interface for the life of the moon! Also the main menu looks nice, so maybe you could come up with a similar theme for the background.

Theme interpretation
My interpretation of the theme (moonshot) is a literal shot at a moon. This influenced my submission by making it about having your character destroy moons.
