The game is simple and fun to play. The controls are simple but could use a bit of an illustration to demonstrate how it should work.
The art is serviceable but could use a better palette. Try using one from Lospec. But the important thing is that the elements are easy to distinguish and it's not harsh to the eyes. A good rule of thumb for pixel art as well is to always keep the pixels in each art 1:1. Don't scale them differently like with the parallax background.
The audio and background music is very reminiscent of the SNES days with a lot of Chiptune and honestly I love it. However, once you get a game over there's this issue with the audio and it gets harsh in the ears.
There are some bugs here and there. Sometimes my character would plunge deep into the ground for some reason. My character would be able to get underneath the enemies. But they're not too game breaking so it's fine.
Overall, the core gameplay loop is very fun and I would love to see what you guys can do with this game if ever you expand it in the future.
