  • The game is simple and easy to pick up. It is reminiscent of games like super hexagon but instead of looking to dodge incoming hexagonal walls, you are instead trying to block projectiles or in this case animals from reaching the center which is the planet. I suppose the hexagonal planet is possibly a reference to super hexagon. However, the game has balancing issues. Sometimes it is just not possible to block two incoming animals at the same time when both approach the planet at the same distance so you are forced to take damage which is not fair for the player especially if there is no means of recovering health. I suppose the plants were supposed to be able to help with blocking animals but the plants die quickly and there is also no means of preserving or replacing them. The art style looks cute. However, do try to prevent scaling pixel art differently for different assets. Pixel art looks best when the size of the pixel is the same for all assets. The soundtrack sounds nice and gives this melancholic, going through space feel to it. However, once the track ends it doesn't loop so you are stuck with no music for the rest of the game. The scoring system could just be replaced by a timer if there is no way of increasing the score other than being alive longer. The score also doesn't reset once the game ends so when you start another game, your previous score is still present. Overall, I think the game is nice but needs more polish and game juice. Congrats on your game! I hope you guys learned a lot during this short amount of time and I hope to see more games from you.

I like the concept of the game and I hate the goats that kill my planet gggrrrr

PROS:

  • I like the music and art
  • The score is nice

CONS:

  • The music stops after one iteration
  • when playing the game again the score does not reset
  • Score doesn't show when game ends
  • The score does not reset when playing a new game
  • Had to figure out the controls
  • I'm not  sure what are the purpose of the plants since they just die and I don't have any way of making them leave. I just watched them slowly perish before my eyes :'(

Recommendations:

  • Animals killed does not seem to add up to the score, so maybe add some to the score on kill
  • Make me save my plants ples
  • Make the game harder as time progress
    • add some powerups to balance

Had fun playing the game, looking forward to more games from you guys!!
