Updated!Now it feels more like a finished game.
The story seems potentially compelling and the gameplay is fairly fun, if a bit simple, but it's dragged down massively by how slow and unskippable the cutscenes are. I fell out of the world by moving backwards at one point and supposedly couldn't restart, and the cutscenes made me not want to retry. (EDIT: now you can skip cutscenes)
I improved.
The characters look really great! I know you said it was the hardest part for you, but the pixel art came out pretty strong.
