I like the mellow and relaxing aesthetic it has, and gathering items in a forest was pleasant. I was surprised that the game was short, as the placard that explains why I'm collecting the ingredients felt like the beginning for the next act. Keeping in tone with the game, gathering the instructions for the spell could precede gathering the ingredients, and the act that follows gathering the ingredients could be setting up and casting the spell. There could also be some text at the beginning of the game that explains the motivations for gathering these items.
Gathering the ingredients was a little strange. The items required could be found in various places in the forest, but only specific spots were allowed to be gathered from. The particle effects for showing what specific objects could be harvested was helpful, but it still felt odd why only those spots were valid. A potential justification could be formed for this by incorporating the previous suggestion of the gathering the spell instructions, where the spell specifies very specific ingredients. For example, the wood and mushroom has to be from a specific type, the water has to be gathered under specific conditions (e.g. as it is falling i.e. at the waterfall), and the rock have to be a specific shape.
The camera sensitivity was too high. Given the pacing of the game, the sensitivity can be toned down to lower levels.
Overall, I enjoyed the peaceful aspect of gathering ingredients in a calm forest.
A calming foraging game.
I like the vibe this one gives off and think it's neat to get a bunch of characters to pick from, although it can be disorienting to play. All the foliage tanked my framerate pretty bad, and it can be confusing as to what you're supposed to do. The game tells you to collect wood, mushrooms, water, and rocks -- the problem is, three of those things can be found everywhere, and yet it seems like you can only use one specific tree, mushroom, or rock to complete the task. Not bad, but could use some improvement.
Pretty much my thoughts on it.
Would like to expand on this theme and style of game given the chance.
