I don't even like horror genre generally... but this was amazing. I'd classify it more as psychological horror than body horror, but there's no reason it couldn't be played as both. Anyhow, it's just... elegant. Really freaking scary, with simple mechanics and exactly the right balance of "what lurks in your imagination is scariest" and "no wait, what's right here is scariest" -- which is a super hard balance to hit. It's so good. The things you find and discover are really creepy. It also hits a good balance between scary things that are real, and scary things that are somewhat supernatural.
I'm not sure if there is or is not quite enough material to play by itself, but it would definitely be good inserted into another game with a modern setting, or maybe it would be good as a shorter one-short. Either way, this is really excellent stuff.
Removing 1 star because there are too many hard end points, ie ways to lose really quickly and that feels pretty unfair.
