Notes (optional)
Sunshine Aquarium is my entry for the Fish Fest Jam of April 2024. The game had to be related to fish as a theme, and had to be made in 7 days. Initially my idea was set on doing some sort of "Fish Store Employee simulator", with some fun and ridiculous mechanics, but with the time limit i thought it was better to work on something "simpler", so I ended up working on some sort of Aquarium Manager game. The scope was still obviously to big for 7 days but the main idea is there and the base mechanics i had in mind are there as well.

Buy and sell fish and decoration. Decorate your tanks and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere!

All the bones of a good aquarium management game are there for sure. I liked the tutorial, and the UI/systems were streamlined well enough to make sense on first reading. While I would have liked something to do while I waited for the fish to grow(?) it was still fun checking out the different species and setting up tanks. My favorite part was definitely the species names.
