Got this as a gift, and my partner and I played it as a quiet game while our toddler slept in the same room, and I think we benefitted from that need to be quiet and those moments of "oh shit the creature stirs" - this game's mood is bleak and disastrous but with a thin ray of wonderful weird shining through that I can skim a bit of creative hope from - we all keep going, even as we choose to lose ourselves in a world that doesn't give us much choice. 5 stars.
I had a blast picking up this game as a part of a solo ttrpg book club. The writing is evocative, the character creation gets your apprentice settled into the fiction instantly, and the tables for generation let you really wander, daydream, and think about this absurd, liminal, all consuming library! I really enjoyed the complication resolution mechanics personally, and am excited to play it again soon! Thanks for creating it!
