Hi I was part of the Feedback Quest. The VOD of the stream where I play this is up if you're interested.

To start, the game feels solidly built. It feels like a good functioning game. However as I mentioned in my stream, I had genuine motion sickness from playing it. Even some in the chat also had to turn away to avoid getting headaches. A good fix would be that the flashlight doesn't need to move as much, I understand the realistic touch but I think its not necessary for it.

Not sure if it was bugged but Slenderman definitely didn't feel like a threat. I feel that this game while solid, could use some work. I apologise I couldn't play deeper to enjoy the other stuff you may have included in the game, but the motion sickness I got from it was too much but still overall a good solid work.

Hey, thanks a ton for your feedback! And yes I would love a link to the vod if possible!

And yeah, Slenderman is basically a non-threat the whole game, but this is actually the first time I've heard someone say they got motion sickness, I'll definitely look into that issue asap! Thank you again for playing and thank you for taking the time to write out your feedback! I highly appreciate it

I managed to find the vod, just wanted to pop back over and say there is NO motion blur in the game, I personally hate motion blur unless it's like a racing game or something. However there are other post-processing effects in place, would an option to remove them and adding an fov slider help? I don't usually take my game jam games seriously, but with it causing people to have headaches, it is something I desire to fix. Thank you again for playing and thanks for the feedback!

yeah I figured from the way it was made, it was a Game Jam game for sure. Simple and sweet.

Though yeah I think adding such sliders or maybe reducing the effects in general, it might help a lot. Frankly I think its just a problem to people who are a bit more sensitive like myself and some members of my chat. I can't 100% tell you what caused the motion sickness, my theory at the moment is either the character movements, the flashlight moving around too much, the post processing or just a pure combination of all those things.

Still for what its worth and I still wanna re-iterate, the game itself, minus my motion sickness, is actually solid especially for a Game Jam game. Good tension, good atmosphere. I like it a lot.

I appreciate it! I will definitely do some experiments and see what I can do to fix the issue. Thank you again for your feedback!

Hello! I was one of the streamers who took part in Feedback Quest, and I'm here to leave some comments I had while playing.

The tension through the music build up was nice. It does break a little at 7 runes when the song plays in full and fades out before looping, but that should be an easy fix. I also enjoyed the silliness of the game, including getting to shoot Slenderman in the crotch.

That said, there was no threat in this game. Slenderman's "hands" did nothing to me, nor did touching Slendy. Meanwhile, the game became a little aggravating to play when finding the runes due to how little you can see forward and a lack of anything to give you an idea where you are. I know the original Slenderman was like this too, but without a threat of losing it just makes things tedious. I also found the "jumpscare" sound when you got close to Slenderman dull.

That said, I do think you have a good sense for building tension as proving with the use of music. With that in mind, I think you should collaborate with the developer of "While you sleep I hunt ghosts with the pope's revolver." That game has no real tension, but has good mechanics and comedy. I think bringing in some real tension to work off the comedy would be a cool idea. But that's me.

Thanks a ton for your feedback! I'll definitely look into Slenderman not being able to affect the player, that may be a huge bug i missed in the later versions of the game. And the jumpscare sound started as more of a meme to my friends who originally playtested the game, as it's the vine boom sound effect that's been overused in a lot of memes, but I'll look into changing it, as well as take the other criticisms into consideration. Thank you so much for taking the time to play this, and furthermore taking the time to type out your comment, I greatly appreciate the feedback!
