To tam nemůžeme dát!" případně "Není čas vymýšlet commit hlášky! Klikej, klikej!!"
  • This game is the craziest _thing_ I have seen this year. Do you remember QWOP? Well, many jam participants did not, but with this game memories get recalled and I am surprised that authors of this game know the old classic... and get inspired by it. So what's going on in this game? You are a LEGionnaire, who (for LEGal reasons) cannot use wheels... nor LEGs in a traditional way. Your task is to provide LEGions with wheels, you deliver these in your improvised cart which do not ride on wheels (but on cubes - playing dice with roman numerals), and the twist? You don't control general movement of your cart in a usual way, but you have 3 keys for each movement direction of your legs (so 6 keys in total) - first key moves your leg to side, second moves it to front and third bends your knee. Combining the keys, you push the cart where it needs to go. There is not much more to the game - you pick wheels (but be careful - whenever wheel touches ground, it gets destroyed), deliver to army, go back and do another round. There is one more thing you can do - stop at merchant that can provide you some enhancement... do you want a couple of little swinging fluffy dice to make your cart nicer? You can have them. The game is hard to master and in some ways impossible to play. When you run into something, you are mostly done - the balance of your cart and given controls do not allow for backing away from obstacles. Also do not try shortcuts through steep slopes... you will not manage to overcome them, and most probably you will flip to your head... and there is no way to flip back to your legs. Yet it is possible to learn some basic maneuvers (hint: you don't need knee bending at all) and fulfill few rounds of wheel deliveries. So what my judgement is? The game is definitely fun (and pun) to play. It is hard to master. But there is not much to gameplay and some little additions could be welcome (more interesting missions, being able to back your cart, having a way to unflip etc.). The biggest regret is that knee bending is not useful at all. But the graphics, sound, theme... they are all on spot and I like them. Ingredients... the least used ones I see is unexpected connections (which maybe the puns and connecting dice instead of wheels could provide) and sense/meaning (saying that the game have some is quite a bold statement... but yes, there is some goal to achieve, there is even a tally screen). I have played the game for the longest time of all the jam's submissions and it tells for something. If the goal of the jam was to create the craziest game, it would definitely be a winner. But given there is a game that is more finished and more of a game, this crazy thing have to stay second on my list. But a very tight second.
  • First of all thanks for the submitted game. Ingredients are used with a fun twist as always from members of this team. The lore about DRM in wheels is unique and creative. The gameplay is, well... :D I think this is a great example of why we didn't use square wheels and the frustration there would be in the world if we did. Controls are intuitive, but the game is pretty hard, I delivered a few wheels bud didn't have the energy to try for more. Overall thanks, it's experimental and something different, I like it and this is exactly the type of experiment for a game jam. See you at our next game jam!
