cool, your first game :D did you just make it or use a tutorial to get you on your way? First off love the menu and the extreme effects when just selecting things ;) I tried it on browser and it worked great really :D so maybe i was lucky since the text suggests to download it. But i would say to move the “how to play” to the top of the menu, i missed it the first time and since its important in this game i would make it clear to new players this option exists.
Love the idea to use the black hole and swing around it! I do have to say that the controls are hard! i’m not the best player in the world so that does not help. Maybe for me the black-hole swing could be a bit slower this might help. and i lose the sense of direction and then make mistakes while moving using all the wasd buttons. Would mouse controls work or a combination of mouse and keyboard for movement? So i can just make circles with the mouse? don’t know.
I really love the light effects, the graphics are simple but this makes it look so cool and fancy! So really cool. and shooting feels amazing! really powerful and its just fun to shoot because of the shakes, graphics and everything! so very well done! For me its mostly the controls’s that could be better other then that i love it :D
Hey thanks for your feedback. A lot of people have trouble with the controls, but you are the first person to suggest a new movement system that might actually work! (using mouse). I'd have to figure out how to make that work because I still want the black hole to be pulling you inward, but it's a great idea. Still, once you get used to the controls they're pretty good, and I don't have any intention of making this into anything more than it is unless it gets some major attention some how haha.
Nice play on the genre. Feels like a solid little game for the most part. Good, simple visuals which help keeping track of what is on the screen. I like the sound design too, I don't know if it is an original, but it feels right for the game: Spacey-ish and non-imposing. I think it is a good balance between what we expect it to be without falling into the cliché sound design of spacecrafts.
If anything, adding a visual queue or what not whenever the spaceship gets out of the camera FoV would be much appreciated. Maybe it is just me, but I lost track of the spaceship a few time and, before realising it, I had died outside the bounds of the screen for unknown reason.
I made all of the sound effects myself using Waveform 11 free, and this was my first time with sound design.
The music I got from itch.io. I credited them in the game description if you are interested. I forgot the first guy's name, but the in game music is by Dos88 and he has a ton of awesome stuff if you are interested.
And you're not the only one that has taken issue with flying out of bounds. I think I am just going to make it a wall instead of a kill barrier. I'll see about adding an indicator icon.

This game is simple but still so fun. It reminds me of the old arcade games from the late 1900's. Nice work.
