A very fun little game. Well suited for quick, repeat plays with a group of friends. Very intuitive ruleset, too. The "what the tiles do" player guide pretty much explains the whole game. The browser version makes it easy to "play along" with other friends in quarantine.
There are couple inconsistencies in the rulebook, but they are minor and I was able to intuit the correct result. The rule for traps seems to properly explain how they work (the explorer only paths over them if the have no other option), but there's a later sentence in the rules that says an explorer will destroy a trap rather than traverse it (which seems... incorrect).
There's also a small bug in the browser game: if you use the evil magic/wild magic option on your very last Move, the browser checks for "move = 0, end game" before it checks for "evil/wild magic checked, permit player to select 2nd tile." Fortunately, it's the last move so if you really wanted to place both you can just "mentally edit" the map on your screen to include the piece you didn't get to place.
Overall, a great "quick game" to have in your game night toolbox.
Ah, yes. You are spot on about the trap rules. An earlier iteration had them blocking unless you were pathing a straight line to treasure, which proved too complex. And I'll add your bug to the list, thanks so much!
A fun little puzzle. Each game is quite different. Takes a few rounds to get used to how scoring works, but once you have it down, it's quite addictive. The web version really speeds things up!
