Schedule
We had a team of eight members, who each had a different preferred workflow: some did short, sporadic work sessions while others did their work in chunks of multiple hours.

We started conceptualizing our game idea and put together our team in the last two weeks of October. We started production on November 1st and finished on November 30th.

We set up a structure to avoid crunching. Each team member was asked to timesheet their work and to also set allocated work hours per week (minimum, target, and maximum amount of hours per week). Each Saturday we did a check-in with each member of how many hours they’d completed that week and to remember to fill out their timesheets.

The total time spent working on this project varies per team member, based on their project roles and allocated time commitment. Total hours ranged anywhere from 30 to 110 hrs total per person.

Success

Yes

Reason
I think we succeeded because we avoided crunching! We were accountable for each other’s time and our own time. Ultimately, we put our lives and each other first. And although we didn’t finish our game, we built a solid demo.
