A downloadable game.
When I first started reading the TTRPGs I had on Itch, this one stood out. Part of it was that I saw that it was based on Cairn, and the bundles had adventures for that. But it was the innovations on Cairn that captured my imagination, especially the Fallout system. I just think it is a very cool way to do flavourful character advancement.
So, I wanted to play this game for years, and finally got the courage and drive to set up a session to GM for Hallowe'en 2025. It was to be the first game I would ever GM. And...that game fell through. But I put the prep to good use and finally ran it four months later.
We didn't get the chance to use Fallout, and I do wonder if maybe it is a bit unlikely for something so characteristic. But as the game says, it is an optional system, and the game I ran was fun without it.
I look forward to playing this more in the future. It is probably my go-to OSR game.
