  • Visually stunning and technically impressive - I only wish there was more of a "game" at play here! I could see what you've created here as a very interesting and satisfying system to interact with in VR - it could serve as a smaller navigation-oriented portion of a much larger game. To be honest, I think if you got this into VR and began experimenting with it, a larger game may present itself based around this idea alone. Who knows? As it is now, with only minor additions to the game, I could envision "gamifying" Hyper-Trace by turning it into a educational game with these features: 1. Add a time limit within which to solve each level. 2. Ensure that every star has multiple branch options to select from. 3. Make the star the player has selected a math problem, make the branching options possible answers. If the player selects the correct answer, that answer will turn into a new problem and branch more potential answers. 4. The critical path to the goal is made up of only correct answers - so quick math skills will have your players completing levels in faster times. Consider it! The visuals are really something to admire. You've achieved a very satisfying bloom effect - and the colors contrast with each other well enough that the individual elements remain easy to differentiate even among the minor chaos that gets generated. The music is also very fitting. It all works very well together. I would enjoy a little bit more "juice" in the interactions. A subtle "branching" animation would be nice - and when my mouse was near enough to a star it would be nice if the start sort of "expanded" to show that it is the active star... and then the selection could come from clicking it. Overall - what you've made is certainly impressive. And a compelling proof of concept. I hope that you do not abandon this, it's really got some potential!
  • The only feedback I can give is maybe finding some way to make it more educational, like provide a short intro on different path finding heuristics between levels, or let them unlock heuristics they can toggle between to show the scores above the nodes. Overall the whole thing was perfect. Use of theme, look, sounds, music, cohesion...can't find anything that could use improvement.
  • Loved: Really cool concept and execution! EVERYTHING seems to work! Awesome! Great visuals! I think it would be fun to play a “game” with this mechanic, where it was solely an exploration experience. Players explore an infinitely large universe. Each planet found has information that’s procedurally generated.. Planet types, life forms, etc. Or even have a mystery unfold, “This planet looks like it was attacked...” Needs work/ Ideas Right mouse and dragging would pan into the abyss. It would be interesting to make the SFX and visuals juicier. When you hit a dead end, play a bad sound and when it’s not a dead end maybe a nice pop with particles.
