Welcome to CoMo Game Jam VII - 80s Edition!

Thank you for participating in our 7th CoMo Game Jam, presented by the CoMo Game Dev Association! Here you can find instructions on how to jam, schedule of events, rules for judging, and much more. After the theme is announced we will be updating the page and open up for submissions through Noon on Sunday.

Watch it all on Twitch

Theme will be decided on May 29th at 6:50PM

Lunch Boxers

We'll let the themes decide at 6:50PM!

Jamming Remotely or Remotely Jamming?

This game jam is a bit different in that we're completely virtual this year! Due to the circumstances, we will be running the jam through a mixture of Twitch, Discord, and itch.io (I guess that's not different).

Throughout the event, we will be hosting your streams, interviewing jammers, showing informational videos - itch-o'clock returns! - and hosting our traditional low-fi.

Host My Stream!

Just tag your stream with #comogamejam and we'll be on the lookout to host, as well as promote it on the discord.

What's The Discord?

We have a special channel on our organization's discord server specific to the game jam. You can find it here.

Itch-o'clock?

This is when we show you how to set up your itch account, join the game jam, set up your project, and add your team mates. Doing this as early as possible means you're less likely to miss the turn in deadline!

How Does The Jam Work?

The jam stream kicks off at 6:30PM on May 29th (see the schedule below) and proper jamming goes from 8PM Friday through 12PM Sunday, giving you a little over a day and a half to get your game out the door and pass out from exhaustion. After that, judges will take the week to rigorously review your games and determine winners.

What If I Win?

Winners will be given not just accolades, but access to a small amount of funds that can be put toward bringing their game or studio forward! Our goal as an organization is to create new studios and launch games and this is just one of the many ways we do this. These funds are for development and publishing only, however, so if you're just wanting cash this won't be your jam.
