  • The gameplay mechanic is super fun to play with! The intro cinematic is extremely creative and charming and I would love to see more of this game. Also, the barrel counter infinitely increase even if I don't move haha but an amazing premise here! The controls can feel a bit slippy with the shift (monkey business) and I didn't know about rocket jumping until I randomly tried it. Still the movement and speed is really fun to experiment with and the "story" is hilarious.

I love the art-style and mood that was created in the first minutes of starting the game.

It took a bit for me to figure out the movement, but once I did I was impressed with the concept and wanted more.

I think if you could encorporate the art of the opening with the mechanics of the main game, this could be amazing.

Would love to see a full game or a continuation of this idea. 11/10 would speedrun full game

I am pleased to announce that untitled monkey games is currently in development. We have wrangled a team of monkeys and they have already learned how to form a union. This will halt development for a few months, but hopefully, it will be coming to a Walgreens near you soon.

Ill set up a tent outside Walgreens, ill wait. If you ever need an extra audio monkey give me a call on my banana phone.

*Reject modernity, return to monkey*

The cinematic at the start was very very cool, and as a prototype for movement and mechanics, the modelled banana gun and rocketjumping was really interesting to try out in a little environment. The music was very very solid (the sampled monkeys is a very nice touch :D) and definitely would be something you'd see in a final iteration of a game level, with bits and bobs (and monkeys?) flying everywhere.

This is feedback that honestly just suggests improvements for working on it beyond the jam (as I know a week is a short time!), a bit of UI polish, some instructions/controls and some texturing on the map would go a long way!

*Not sure if it's something other peeps found, but my game slowed down in the final cinematic after destroying the barrels and had to be alt-tabbed out

This is a really interesting mechanic and theme and could definitely go places! :D

Thanks for the feedback! The final cinematic is a bit buggy right now :( I'm going to fix it after voting. This is what happens when you add 30 things the minute before submission lol. And yeah its supposed to be little plastic monkeys like the children's toy monkey in a barrel.

THIS GAME AIN'T MONKEYING AROUND!!!!

I knew it would be a good game from the monkey button on the first menu.

That intro cinematic was sick! I love the style. But I think you flashed through the images too fast. I get you're going  for the mental breakdown and snap at corporate life, but the images are so good I want more time to look at them.

The gameplay is awesome. Took me a second to realize you could rocketjump. The narration was a little too quiet to hear.

I think the gameplay would significantly improve from textures on the skyscrapers. I kept running off the edge because I couldn't see how close the edge of the skyscraper was.

I wish the intro cinematic artstyle blended more into the game section - with like a hyperstylized shader or something.

I really, really dug this game. This has so much potential. Seriously consider making this larger.

Thanks for the kind words! I'd love to incorporate the art-style more into the game at some point! It was our main artist's first 3D game and my second, so there is still much to learn!
