SladeRyker – Producer | Narrative Designer | Systems Support

Looking to form a team! Admittedly new to video games, but experienced project manager!

🛠️ What can I do?
I bring three core strengths to a team:

  • Project Management / Leadership – I’ve led cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments, handled sprint-style progress tracking, and kept projects aligned and moving forward. I’m organized, proactive, and focused on keeping creative momentum alive without burning out the team.

  • Creative & Narrative Design – I love storytelling. I can help with worldbuilding, character arcs, dialogue systems, and tying narrative into mechanics in a way that feels meaningful and immersive.

  • Light Systems Design – I’ve worked on high-level gameplay structures and enjoy brainstorming mechanics.

Also: I’ve got some growing experience in Unreal Engine 5, and I’d love to build in it during this jam.

🎯 What would I like to focus on?
Ideally, I’d like to act as a Producer / Narrative Designer / Team Lead—keeping things structured and clear while contributing to the creative vision. I can help manage scope, set up workflows, and work closely with the team to make sure things feel good on both a gameplay and narrative level.

🚫 What can’t I do?
I’m not a programmer or artist, and I’m still early in my technical journey. I’m not the person to implement your combat loop—but I am the person to help define it, schedule it, track it, and make sure it connects back to the story or vision.

🎨 What don’t I need control over?
Art direction and engine-specific workflow. I care about them—but I’m happy to support the vision of whoever’s leading on visuals or technical development.

⏰ Time Commitment
I can contribute a few hours per day throughout April. I’m consistent with check-ins, good with async or live meetings, and can help keep the team organized without micromanaging.

🎮 What kind of games do I like?
Honestly, everything—if it tells a story and tells it well, or is just too damn fun to play to care; Ideally its both.

I love weird, creepy games like Amanda the Adventurer and Poppy Playtime, as well as deep story-driven RPGs like Baldur’s Gate 3, or classic JRPGs like Chrono Trigger. Whether it’s atmospheric, surreal, goofy, dark, or heartfelt—I’m into it. My goal is to help shape something players will remember.

🤝 What matters to me

  • Being kind, curious, and respectful

  • Building in a way that’s healthy, not stressful

  • Supporting each other’s creativity

  • Giving feedback that lifts people up

  • Having real fun making something cool together
