Hey everyone,
I'm a novice generalist and I've never participated in any game jams. I've been playing/running D&D going on 18 years, and I kind of want more out of it, so I felt like game development might me a natural progression? This might still be too advanced for me, but I figured I'd give it a go anyway.
1. What can I do? I've only just scratched the surface with game development. I have some experience with Unity and C#. All I've really done is follow a tutorial to remake Pong. I'm not trying to get stuck in "Tutorial Hell", but I decided to follow it because I wanted more familiarity with the Unity engine. I've also done a bit of pixel art and messed around in Aseprite. I've also used a few browser programs for sound and music.
2. Who would I like to focus on? [something you already know how to do, or developing a weaker area?] I'd like to help a team however I can, but I'm afraid my skills are not developed enough yet. I'm willing to put in whatever time necessary.
3. What can't I do? Like I said, I'm very new and mostly doing this to see what I can do/learn.
4. What don't I care about - i.e. other people can have "full reign" over? I'm actually interested in most aspects of game development. I got into this for fun. I want to do more coding, art, writing, etc..
5. What is my time commitment to this project? I have time most mornings for a few hours, usually I don't have time from around 3pm - 11pm CT, due to work, but I'll try to be as flexible as possible.
6. What kind of games do I like? What genres or game types do I enjoy playing or working on, or would like to try making? I'm into RPG's, puzzles, roguelikes, platformers, Card games, Sci-fi. What I'm really not into: Heavy survival games and RTS games, but I'm not opposed to learning more about them.
