I really liked your art, especially because of how you used depth, properly placing objects in front or behind at the right moment, which made the visuals much more satisfying. The game itself is quite challenging, it took me a while to get the hang of it and find the right timing for each jump. One thing that could improve in this regard is the jump height. For example, the longer I hold the button, the higher the jump would be, and when I release the button, the character would stop ascending and start descending. It would also be interesting to have an indication that we can't step on the sand, because at first it was confusing to understand what was actually causing me to lose the game. I only realized it after a few attempts. The sounds matched well and overall pleased me, but you could have the music loop when we lose, so it continues playing without pauses. If we die many times in the beginning (which was the case for me, sorry, I was really terrible before adapting), it becomes very repetitive. In general, it was a great game, challenging but not impossible. I had a lot of fun playing it. Congratulations on the project!

Thank you for the feedback! I agree that the adjustable jump height may be a desirable feature, but the jumping is already finnicky (specifically when on seesaws), so I'll probably prioritize getting that sorted out first. As for the sand hazard, I figured mentioning it in the description and relying on the player's previous knowledge of the game (aka floor is lava) would be enough, but I may add an in-game tutorial in the future. Lastly, I haven't figured out how to communicate information between levels, much less get the music to continue when loading/reloading a level, so I may implement that if I can figure out how the game engine does it.

The art is cute, music is also suitable. Gameplay is simple yet challenging, it did not take me long to figure out my goal is to keep going right without touching the ground, although after a certain point the ground no longer kills me. Not sure if it's a bug or I am able to walk on the ground when there are other kids presented. The character's gesture changed when going down the slide, liked this detail. Good job.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, that bug was previously brought to my attention and I'm waiting for a response about whether I'm allowed to re-upload the fixed version.

Developer

Hey, just thought I'd let you know I uploaded the fixed version if you wanted to try it out. Have a good one!
