How does the game fit the theme?
The failure condition is that earth becomes entombed in a layer of space debris, preventing us from ever reaching the stars.

An interesting take! Mouse movement feels a bit unresponsive though it adds feel to handling some big machine. Loved the sound feedback of launching a hook a lot. Well done!
Really neat idea with a thought-provoking concept. Aiming the collection tool with the mouse feels a little clunky but overall I loved it and it's kind of a shame this isn't getting more traction.
Also, bug report:
1: Open the settings menu, apply settings and return to menu
2: Start new game
3: After the opening text crawl, I enter the fist mission as normal, but a non-interactive copy of the settings menu will overlay the screen and I can't see anything.
