How does your game fit the theme?
It doesn't really. It would if I had managed to implement the story but I ran out of time, rip.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
OH YES. The programming, models and music was made by myself in a week. Using Unity, 3DS max and Bosca Ceoil.

(Apart from the sound effects, from MixKit.com and Freesound.com).

I love it! ❤️

Things I enjoyed ✔️

  1. Environment is very well done! Especially the little tents, huts, and walls.
  2. Sound effects are good! I like them!
  3. I can see with what you were going for with this game! I bet if you had even one more week this would have been a very polished experience!

Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷‍♂️

  1. Maybe put some goggles on the bean enemies, just so you know where they are facing, at least while testing.
  2. Have the enemies stop moving when attacking, only reason why is because I kept getting pushed against the wall, and was not able to do anything.

Overall 📓

Great experience, overall sure it didnt follow into the theme, but I feel it would have like you said, just because of the one week time frame. This game was an enjoyable experience, and I hope you continue to still work on this game! Organize what ya got left, and accomplish it! Because I feel this could be a really cool experience! If ya need any ui art, I could try and help out with it!

Thanks for playing! I fixed the enemy AI so it stops within attack range of the player. I've been procrastinating modelling the enemies because I am terrible at 3D modelling humanoids but I'll get that done as well.

I'm glad you had some enjoyment with what I managed to do for the jam. I hope to get it finished this month at least.

Wow! Great graphics and gameplay. Mechanics and optimization are good. I like it)

Sword attack and enemies can be improved. Sometimes I stuck between enemy and tree :) Other than that good looking environment and music was cool. It was nice to see an rpg game in a 1 week jam. Good job!

Developer

For a week jam, this game was a bit too much for me to handle but I learned a lot in that time, so it was worth it. The combat and the enemies are very lacking but I aim to fix that and re-submit the game sometime this month. I also managed to get a basic quest and dialogue system going but obviously I wont update anything until after the jam ends as it wouldn't be fair. I had fun making the environment and music so I am glad to hear that you liked that. Thank you for playing!

great concept and full of potential

Cool game but need some improvements

The game has great potential, but it is clear that at this stage everything is quite unfinished in many things. I can praise the soundtrack, it's quite good.

Developer

Thanks for playing. I'm glad you liked the music. I was very tempted to just not bother uploading but tbh I just wanted the fun game jam experience. I had loads of fun making it and participating in other peoples games. Hopefully, I'll finish it some time after the jam. It's a good lesson for me to learn, not to attempt a potentially month long project in a week haha.

I like the environment. Pretty nice looking "low-poly" style. Was fun walking around end discovering your little "villages".

Unfortunately somehow the fighting seems not to work. The enemies feel extremely overpowered. As soon as one of them discoveres you, game is actually over^^

So just could walk around, discover everything and collect these bottles, but not sure for what to use them.  Also because couldn't beat the enemies yet, not sure, if there would be any more story-elements later and/or if it would be more related to the theme then...

So all in all, guess it's actually really just a "prototype" like you described it, and not sure if it can be really rated in that state, but anyhow thought i give it a try.

If you continue, you at least have a nice enviroment already :-)

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you like the environment. There is not much to do unfortunately as I bit off more than I could chew to be honest. The enemy combat does work, you just have to circle around and attack them from behind. Of course the AI is not very good though so I can understand why you had problems with it. The potions are there to restore health, I supposes there is no way of knowing that though unless you take damage.

I intended to have a quest system but I overestimated my programming and time-management abilities. Thank you for playing what I managed to come up with. I definitely intend to finish it at some point.

Sounds good. Looking forward to play it again when it's bit more polished :-)

Developer

I've finished it, if you are still interested.

oh cool. Yes will try it

Nice environment. I do feel like the combat was to hard. Took some time before i finally took out the first enemy. But still nice job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I think better AI and a dodge ability could have solved that. If I manage to finish the game, I will make sure to make the combat more fair and interesting.
