How does your game represent Mode?
Hey, I'm the creator of "Dark Mode," a game that's not just about playing, but about understanding and empathy. This is a story close to my heart, about Joseph, a blind barista with a passion for coffee and people.
In "Dark Mode," you'll step into a world without sight, where every touch and sound takes on new meaning. It's not about high scores; it's about experiencing life from a different perspective and recognizing the strength in every challenge.
As you navigate Joseph's journey, you'll find that making coffee is more than a task; it's an art that transcends sight. Each interaction with customers isn't just dialogue; it's a chance to connect, to share stories, and to understand the world through different eyes.
This game is my invitation to you, to take a moment and experience life in 'dark mode.' It's a call to not just play, but to feel, to listen, and to extend our understanding and care to those who experience life differently.
Join me in this journey. Let's learn, understand, and spread awareness about the visually impaired community, one cup at a time.

Ahhhh, my eyes I can only see black.
I really like the presentation of this. I feel like I have to use my other senses to get through. Making a mental image of the world around me as you move through it. I love the challenge. I got a little lost when I was outside, maybe I got confused which way the sound was leading me. I might have accidentally walked toward the city noises too, but that makes sense to the theme. I would love to revisit this game and give it a proper play through. Also, I almost was softlocked in the elevator, but you can hit the down button a 2nd time and you will have another chance of getting outside. There is no prompt like when you first get to the elevator. I would love a little bit of reward element for finding a landmark maybe. Something that can stay lit to give a point of reference. I think it would help pace the game and give it a realistic mechanic that applies to the theme. For instance, if a blind person walked by a statue that was unique every day they could reference that to where they are. Loved the music how it went to the beat of the footsteps, but would love to see some diegetic music perhaps to help build the world around you!
very unique idea and great visuals! unfortunately I was unable to find the workplace, but I watched my friend complete the game instead. the story was very cute and wholesome as well.
Great idea! Never seen a game like this that tries to simulate being blind.
I also got kinda soft locked in the elevator. Eventually I got down and was able to continue, but it took 5ish minutes of jumping around. The presentation is really good. The gameplay is tedious in a good way, as it really shows the struggle that a blind person would have.
Really cool idea! I would love to see this get explored more. Unfortunately I think the game softlocked once I entered the elevator after getting the cane.
I just tried this on MacOS, sadly I could not figure out the starting area to get the white cane. I think the walking sound came a bit late for me to figure out where I was. I really look forward to this game and its updates.
sorry for the late response; I’ve just recovered from an all-nighter at work. Thank you for trying out Darkmode, Starion! I have received your feedback and will do my best to optimize the game’s beginner’s guide. As soon as we have any updates, I will notify you immediately! Looking forward to your next play session.
