  • Hi there, Thank you for submitting "Treasure of life" to the jam! The amount of work you put into setting up the mood and the story in the game is amazing and those things convey a very high quality. The different music pieces are well done and soothing. The sound effects fit the game very well. The bright, low saturation colors, pixel-art graphic style is unique and blends very nicely with the non pixelated backgrounds. You also put alot of effort in designing the levels and the different types of enemies are not easy to implement in the short timeframe of a jam. I really enjoyed playing "Treasure of life" for the mood. If you want to take it one step further, I suggest to work a bit on the jumping mechanics (a jump feels a bit slow) and on the coins falling with acceleration (not just linear velocity). It also happened to me that the (very nice) clouds obstructed my view just when I wanted to jump on an enemy. Perhaps they could be faded to a more transparent look when close to the player. Also hit-feedback was not optimal. Flashing the player/enemy sprite in a red-ish color could help to communicate that someone took damage. For returning players it would be nice to have the intro skippable. And finally, for german keyboard layouts x and z is very suboptimal, perhaps add y as an alternative to z. However, all of this is (I hope creative) criticism on a very high level, so good job here! If you want to take the game a step further, please share your progress on your game page or the discord, I would love to hear about it.
