Guidelines

Inclusiveness
Everyone is allowed to join including people who are not students at NWMSU, that
being said if making teams please look to your fellow students first as this is a great
bonding experience and will allow us to keep connected in this time.
General Purpose Information
WHEN
STARTS: April 17th at Noon Central
ENDS: April 19th at Noon Central
VOTING
Voting will be done by a small group of individuals, all votes will be in and results posted
by no later than one week after submissions close (April 26th at Noon Central)
ENTRY
There will be two forms of entry, a $5.00 entry for people wishing to earn prizes based
on votes (only available to NWMSU Students), and a free entry for anyone who wishes
to participate but does not wish to earn prizes.
THEME
The theme of the event will be posted the day that submissions open.
Code of Conduct
PURPOSE
The purpose of this event is to keep us connected in this period of time where seeing
each other is difficult, please be respectful of all people’s religion, race, nationality,
gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc.
The code of conduct goes over our guidelines for all those who wish to participate, as
well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR
Participants are to exercise consideration and respect in their speech and actions, and
refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech. We also
expect the same consideration and respect to be applied to games.
Be mindful of your fellow participants. Alert community leaders immediately if you notice
inappropriate behavior, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even
if they seem inconsequential.
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory,
derogatory or demeaning speech or actions by any participant in one-on-one or group
communications.
Harassment includes: harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related to
gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, appearance, ethnicity, national origin,
citizenship, socioeconomic status, or religion; deliberate intimidation, stalking or
following; sustained disruption of talks or other events; and unwelcome sexual attention.
CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, consequences may be
taken up to and including a ban and removal of submission from the community without
warning (and without refund in the case of a paid event).
IF YOU WITNESS OR ARE SUBJECT TO UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns,
please report this in one of the following ways:
Speaking privately to an organiser or volunteer, through email, text, discord, or any
other form of communication you use.
ADDRESSING GRIEVANCES
If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct,
you should notify an organizer or volunteer with a concise description of your grievance.
SCOPE
We wish for all community participants (paid or otherwise) to abide by this Code of
Conduct—online and in-person—as well as in all one-on-one or group communications
pertaining to community business.
