should I make a text based game or am I cooked?

hi! I already have some experience in game dev but that's primarily making text based games. this means that, while creativity and enjoyability are ideally high, audio design is non-existent and the art is bad because I am not an artist individually. I could try to make a video but I'm wondering if I could even pull off anything close to a win here, since, while text based games are relatively easier to make than most games, with my schedule, a month of constant work wouldn't produce much anyway, so I don't think it's worth it to try my chances here.

maybe if you could implement something that still can be considered a bad idea

You could do a text-based game and have a minimal amount of audio, like simple sound effects and maybe background music? I don't really play these types of games, so I really have no clue. You can find some other devs to help with art and audio on the discord tho

You can definitely make a creative nice nice-looking text-based game! If you want to use art, you could try getting into pixel art because it's simpler. Also, if you want to make it more creative, maybe you could add some genre shift or some sort of twist on the formula? That's what ddlc did for the dating sim genre, which had gotten rather stale by then. If you don't want to make art at all, you can still make it look nice by adding nice UI! :)
