Only worked on this the first 2 days of the jam, but still kept a devlog like on the previous jams:

Haven't played Earthbound or listened to the soundtrack that much, so this track was made with the REMAKE category in mind, since I just took some inspiration from the original track but went mostly "my way" with this 😄.
DAW: Cubase 13
Instruments: Magical Box 2.0 SNES sound bank for the full version of Kontakt
Magical Box is a really cheap sample library that costs only about 15€ or so (at least when I bought it) with some great samples made to replicate classic SNES game instrument sounds.
Thanks for listening, all feedback and critique is welcome like always!

what a fun tune! v fitting to the theme, hearing the melody thrown around between the parts and departing into new sections was really interesting and the second half has a zaniness to it that vibes well with earthbound in particular. very interesting form, the return feels familiar and smooth even with the contrast in the later sections. good work!!
Haven't played Earthbound so I wasn't that sure if this fit the vibes (mostly based this on listening to the original tune), but happy know it does 😀.
I like your soundfont! I like the rhythms that you used, but sometimes it also feels a bit difficult to follow because I imagine that in a shop, I want to focus on the items I want to get. However, the music kind of interrupts that flow (too stimulating). I only feel this way in the B section though. I enjoyed the A section melodies!
I get what you mean, the B part ended up too "stabby" with the left hand stuff on the piano.
Nice track ! I like how the different melodic parts are "dialoging", very pleasant to hear. Good job !
Many thanks!
Neat track! I could definitely hear this in an Earthbound Shop! I like some of the interesting rhythms you used. Keeps you on your toes while you are listening. Nice work!
Glad you liked it!
